Dante is a networked digital audio system that carries many audio channels over a standard network cable. Pinanson Dante units are where that network turns into something you can plug into: XLR outputs, a headphone socket with volume control or the outputs of a press table.
All of them are built in Mondéjar (Guadalajara, Spain) and adapted to where they go: portable box, wall plate or 19″ rack.
Dante to XLR and back
The Dante Box converter turns 2 Dante channels into 2 line-level XLR outputs, or 2 XLR inputs into Dante, in a portable MF box. The Dante Wall Plate does the same in a wall plate. They run at 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz and 24 bits.
Listening to the network on headphones
The Dante headphone amplifier turns a stereo Dante stream into a headphone socket with its own volume. You choose what to listen to in Dante Controller and, once set up, you just plug in the network cable. It comes as a wall plate (powered over the network cable, PoE), in an MF box and in an 8-output version. For fixed 19″ rack installation there is also a 2-channel stereo Dante volume control.
Dante in the press room
Press splitters with Dante input take the network feed and send it to many transformer-isolated XLR outputs: the SPP Dante is passive, PoE-powered, with up to 12 outputs; the SA SMC Dante is active; and the SAI IT IMC Dante has gain control and an LED on every output.
Dante to AES/EBU
The SDA Dante 1-8 takes one Dante input and feeds 8 AES/EBU outputs, to take the network signal to equipment with an AES/EBU input.
How to choose
- What you need to do: Get the signal out on XLR, listen on headphones, feed the press or convert to AES/EBU.
- How many channels: From 2 channels (converter, wall plate) to many outputs (splitter).
- Where it goes: Portable, on the wall or in a 19″ rack.
- How it is powered: Over the network cable (PoE) or with a power supply, depending on the unit.
- Ask for a quote: We build it to order.
Frequently asked questions
What is Dante?
A networked digital audio system that carries many channels over a standard network cable with low latency.
Do they work with other brands’ Dante equipment?
Yes. They are set up in Dante Controller like any other Dante device on the network.
What is PoE?
Power over the network cable: the unit needs no mains socket if the switch provides it.
Can it be adapted to my installation?
Yes: format, connectors, labelling and colour are made to order.
