From bringing a recording studio to your home to integrating the analog world with the latest digital technology. This is the original way of working of the people of Comeback Studios and to carry it out they have had audio equipment made to measure by Pinanson.

We asked Alex Gabasa, Co-Founder and CCO of Comeback Studios S.L., some questions.

Why did you choose Pinanson?

By recommendations. We know, from companies in which we worked, that the quality standard in cabling solutions, patch panels, splitters, etc., is Pinanson and since our philosophy as a sound company is maximum quality, we wanted to match quality with our suppliers.

A normal signal flow in our chain is as follows:

• Our microphones go to the Pinanson Splitter PTRS0919 that duplicates each signal to send direct sound to the room or event and to us without losing even 1% of quality. All this through a Harting multicore that has 16 CH.
• Using the Harting multicore we take those 16 CH to a patch (Pinanson PTRS1369) and, using Bantam pigtails , we choose the destination of the signal: depending on the preamplifier that we want to use in each case and thus have different sound colors for each element.
• After having the analog signal already chosen, we take the signals to the analog-digital converter: DAD ax32 / AVID MTRX. This receives 16 CH modules by Harting. This converter makes a crystal clear and faithful conversion as it happened with the magnetic tape of our analog signal, to be already treated in a DAW like Pro Tools, Logic, etc. or a mixer that reads the digital protocol of the converter such as Dante, Madi, ADAT, etc. In our case we use analog preamplifiers (NEVE or Solid State Logic type) from the Kahayan brand, a studio provider such as Capitol Records (Los Angeles) or Estudio Uno (Madrid). Specifically the Kahayan 12k72 (24 channels of this model) and the Model K1.

With which equipment do you use the PTRS0919 micro-line Splitter?

Our philosophy is flexibility and ergonomics, so we need to give our audio channels with the different equipment as fast as possible, at events, recordings and concerts, this is essential.

On the other hand, as excellence and the highest audio quality is another essential, we are forced to respect the quality and sound equipment that we find in the best recording studios in the world. They usually have 100% analog components, which prevents us from having integrated solutions like typical audio interfaces or digital mixing consoles, which are integrated solutions (quick to assemble and work) but at the cost of having studio sound quality. Our solution combines quality and ergonomics and, in part, it is thanks to the solution that Pinanson offers us.
