SOLUTIONS – STAGE SPACES

Architecture in harmony with technology

Given the need to respect the architecture and aesthetic of a space as well as incorporating the latest technical advances, the design or renovation of an auditorium or theatre requires complex and creative solutions as far as the technical part is concerned. If you need reduced-dimension boxes for audiovisual connection or those which respect the aesthetics of spaces where it seems impossible to do so, Pinanson can respond to your needs.

Pinanson works closely with the system integrators for creating unique installations. Knowing the dimensions and a list of pre determined connections in every point, creating a customised design for every project, without prolonging the expected period or causing disruption to the products.

The old barracks in Bülow Fredericia (Denmark) has been converted in 2020 into a permanent performing arts center and therefore it has been necessary to incorporate the infrastructure to perform musical shows (from electronic music to classical music or heavy rock) on a regular basis.

Our distributor in Denmark Matrix Sales has been in charge of the installation of Digico and L-Acoustics systems (who have installed the first K3 line array system in Europe) and the necessary Pinanson connection equipment, made to measure for these systems.

The equipment designed to be connected to the DiGiCo D12 rack was the Digi Rack REF.:PTR7302

These boxes mirror and centralize all the speaker connections for L-Acoustics LA4X systems with SpeakCON and CACOM connections.

According to Henrik Bonné – Pro audio Sales Manager in Matrix Sales, the system allows 100% flexibility both for events inside the venue and for events outside the concert hall.

The Music House in Esbjerg (Denmark) is a spectacular building designed by Utzon (Sydney Opera House) architects that has exclusive rooms for concerts, theatrical performances and other cultural events. With more than 60,000 annual visitors, it is the largest culture house in southwestern Denmark.

Through our distributor in Denmark, Matrix Sales, the Digi Rack Box PTR9224 was custom designed for the concert hall: 48 channels, 4 remote stage boxes and 1 auxiliary output.

This is a device designed to work with digital audio on a network (using any protocol), making all the analog connections on the stage (with remote boxes), patching them and sending them to monitors, keeping the connection to the digital Stage Box (in this case Digico D2- Rack) once made, without being modified.

The Gergely Csiky Theater located in Kaposvár (Hungary) opened its doors in 1911 and became the most important cultural center in Somogy.

The Hungarian integration company Animatic, member of Animative Group (www.animative.eu), put its trust in Pinanson’s tailor-made solutions for connection within the cultural venue.

The Hungarian integration company Animatic put its trust in Pinanson’s tailor-made solutions for connection within the cultural venue.

For audio, data and power connections for surface, our client chose Wall Rack boxes, with their different panel configurations depending on each room, valuing above all the ease of installation and the protection of the connection panel during it, according to Attila Tóth, ELV project manager at Animatic says:

The frame and the connection plate is removable so we just put the box in the wall, than repair the wall around the box and put all of them back. We can protect the important part of the box from scratches and dirt.”

For AV signals in floor, TB AT boxes of various dimensions where choosen.

The use of equipment made exclusively for the client when we talk about large-scale auditoriums is an important aspect to be taken into account by the integrator responsible for the project. The Exhibition and Convention Center in Muscat, Oman, has a large auditorium to house 3200 people.

For this large project, Pinanson manufactured a distribution equipment with 1 input to 2 outputs + 1 direct output for microphone and line signals to cover up to 144 channels for its client, Dominion. A device ready to be installed in a 19 “rack.

As main advantages over the custom-made equipment, Miguel Guinduláin, responsible for production AV Division in Dominion (Spain), highlights the following:

“The simplicity in its installation, the high isolation provided by the transformer, the simple rear connectorization”

Commenting also:

“The good job done by Pinanson in the engineering processes in order to customize the product. Pinanson responds quickly, with a high degree of professionalism and quality”

Fundacion Autor asked Pinanson in 2009 to manufacture all the audiovisual boxes, wiring and Patchbays for the comprehensive refurbishment of the Teatro Campos Eliseos in Bilbao, now known as the Arteria Teatro Campos Eliseos Antzokia.

For this refurbishment we designed and manufactured audiovisual boxes in the form of the Wall Rack type, some of them with doors, for hanging on the walls, Table Box type and Standard Mini and Pcuad types for the confined spaces.

Also an Audio Splitter was made with transformers of great quality for the distribution of the 48 audio signals, as well as the necessary wiring, snakes, and sub snakes with remote boxes for the distribution of the stage microphones.

SUCCESS STORY: PINANSON STAGE BOX AND WIRING AT THE WROCLAW POLISH THEATRE

The Polish Theatre is one of the most interesting places on the cultural scene of Wroclaw. It can be found in the city centre close to the bus and the train stations and it is also in the important tourist district.

The Polish Theatre has electro-acoustic of high scale and a highly qualified technician. Its modern and spacious architecture has created it into a unique place that accommodates numerous special conferences.

Pinanson has designed an Isolated Stage Box from the S series (micro/line level) made up for the connection and isolated-Passive, mono balanced distribution, from one audio input micro / line level into two micro / line level outputs, as well as a direct output for 48 channels. All the outputs on Terminal Blocks are already in the interior of the wall rack for one internal and fixed connection. The inputs are distributed around the stage and enter into the splitter with Harting or directly on XLR (There are switchable options for some of these channels).
