Omroep Zilt
Omroep Zilt is a regional broadcaster in Northwest-Friesland, the Netherlands, serving the communities of Harlingen, Terschelling, Vlieland, and Waadhoeke. It has a strong FM radio, DAB+, and digital media component and works with professionals and volunteers to produce content in Dutch and several dialects/regions.
Omroep Zilt also offers live coverage of local events, such as the traditional kaatsen tournament in Harlingen, and produces its own programs such as Afslag Harlingen, which combines interviews, music, and citizen participation. These initiatives reinforce its role as a regional platform and bring Friesland’s cultural and social life closer to its entire audience, both on FM and DAB+, as well as via streaming.

Individual Headphone Volume
- 1-channel stereo volume control.
- Rear terminal block connection.
- 1/4″ (6.3 mm) and 1/8″ (3.5 mm) jack connectors for headphone connections.
- Precision potentiometer, easy to access from the desk.
- Screw-on tabletop format with a stable structure, materials that withstand daily use.
- Electrical compatibility/impedance suitable for the headphones used by Omroep Zilt.
The team at this regional station needed volume controllers for the technicians’ and announcers’ headphones, which could be permanently mounted for daily use on the control and voice-over table.
A robust, easy-to-operate product with standard headphone connectors, good adjustment range, and no noise or distortion, to maintain audio quality during broadcast monitoring, were the keys to choosing Pínanson’s custom-made product.
The headphone volume controllers are passive elements of the monitoring chain, which is implemented as follows in the Omroep Zilt radio studio:
- The audio signal to be monitored is processed and adjusted using Symetrix 506 equipment.
- The signal is then distributed to the six announcer and/or control stations using Sonifex RB-HD6 equipment.
- From the RB-HD6 system, the 6 headphone outputs are connected to each individual PTR6947 Pínanson headphone volume controller integrated into each of the 6 tables.
- Each user connects their headphones to the Pínanson volume controller using the jack connection (1/4″ or 1/8″) and adjusting the potentiometer to the required volume.

When every inch counts
The REF.PTR6947 headphone volume controller is a custom-made panel with dimensions tailored to fit perfectly into the desk. Because it’s integrated directly into the desk, the volume controller is always accessible and organized, eliminating loose devices or additional cables. This provides convenience for the broadcaster, streamlines live adjustments, and keeps the workspace clean and professional.
In addition to size, the product is custom-made in terms of color, logos, text, and placement (table, wall, seat, rack, etc.).
