SMPTE 304 signal

The SMPTE 304 standard defines a type of connector for use in the connection between the camera and its control unit ((Camera Control Unit: CCU) for Broadcast and professional high-definition video systems combining electrical and optical signals (copper and fiber) .

The SMPTE 304 connector connects to a cable also built under the SMPTE standard, in this case SMPTE311. This cable is made up of 2 single-mode fibres, 2, 4 or 8 power conductors and 2 low-voltage conductors

Different installations, different adaptations

Below are the different SMPTE 304 adaptations we manufacture, most of them made to measure at the customer’s request. Different ways of splicing the wiring, different formats, different ways of connection…

SMPTE 304 SPLICE ENCLOSURE, CONNECTOR-BASED
Diagram of the SMPTE 304 splice box by connection
  • Front panel with 30º inclination with up to 8 SMPTE 304 connectors
  • Rear panel with cable gland for inserting the installation wiring.
  • Inner box with inner panel and LC and/or SC connectors and barrel-type AMP (MATE-N-LOK) terminals.
  • Wiring connection: by connection
  • SMPTE connectors are quick and easy to replace.
  • Greater protection of electrical and optical connections
SMPTE 304 SPLICE ENCLOSURE, FUSION-SPLICED

  • Front panel up to 8 SMPTE 304 connectors
  • Rear panel with cable gland for inserting the installation wiring.
  • Inner box with inner panel and LC and/or SC connectors and barrel-type AMP (MATE-N-LOK) terminals.
  • Wiring connection: by fibre fusion splicing and copper connection.
  • For fusion experts, easier installation.
  • Avoids the use of barrel fibre connectors for splicing
MODULAR PATCH PANEL FOR SMPTE 304 ADAPTORS
Modular SMPTE 304 patch panel for six cameras, with LC fibre and power rear adaptors
  • Front panel up to 6 SMPTE 304 modules
  • Rear side with individual modular box for each SMPTE connector with LC and/or SC connectors and barrel-type AMP (MATE-N-LOK) terminals.
  • No need to access the inside of the box
  • Wiring connection: by connection
  • Modular and individual protection of each connector
ADAPTER SMPTE 304 BOX
